Time has definitely marched on through the various iterations of my self.  A journey that began in  nondescript Aldridge Community has taken me down many rough and winding trails.  Most of my dreams failed to materialize, but it's been a good life in it's own strange way.  I grew up in a haunted house.  That had to make a significant mark on my development.  My first college experience was as a vocal music major.  Next came a theological education, followed by humanities.  The last episode of academia was an extensive course of psychology and counseling.

I have assumed various roles over the years.  Let's see, there have been stints of manual labor, front man in rock bands, the pastorate, and psychotherapy across every possible setting.  I have been married for 43 years, have two daughters, and two grandchildren.  There have been many places I have lived (from Southwest Georgia to Alaska), but none that I could really call home.  Can anyone say, "Bipolar?"  My  own struggle with mental illness flavors everything I do.

The common thread through it all, though, has been art.  My art is a reflection of soul; a channel for my inner darkness.  From early childhood to the present I have known an irresistible need to create.  It is a madness, a passion, and a compulsion.  I cannot rest until the current project is finished.  As soon as it is complete, a fresh endeavor begins.  I suspect that, through my art, I seek epiphany.  While my art exists first for my own pleasure, it's my sincere hope that others might benefit as well.  It would also be nice to make enough money to retire, so buy some of my stuff!

Art has been the common thread weaving its way throughout my life.  My art is a reflection of my soul.  Hollow Eye is me.
